First and foremost, this blog, and my life, is about healing. Who I want to be in this world is someone who assists others in their healing as well as continue my own. In my various ways of working – as a therapist, a care manager, a nanny, a mentor, and more – I have seen a great need for healing in the areas of grief and trauma. This is where my passion lies.
My wish is that the words and ideas I present here will help people to discover their paths to healing. I will share the ideas and experiences I have learned both in my life and in my work. I have been fortunate to have many great teachers and mentors along my path to healing and I am honored to have the opportunity to share some of the wisdom I have learned from them.
If you are hurting or in pain, pause a moment to look around. Perhaps in this space you will find some healing.
Peace and Love,
Emily

Hi Emily,
Not sure how i “stumbled” upon this, but I am researching healing spaces (and places) and architecture, and found your blog very interesting. i would like to know: you say you are a therapist? what kind and where do you practice?
Respectfully and consciously aware,
alison
Hi Alison,
I am a therapist, I am currently working on getting licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I tend to have a more eclectic and integrative approach but gravitate towards Focusing, Experiential and Narrative therapies when working with people. I would also say that I tend to be more holistic – looking at mind, body and spirit and all aspects of a person’s life.
I live in Asheville, North Carolina and work for an organization called TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Safer Communities).
Your research sounds very interesting!
